Shortly wants more Vampire stories!
There is something profoundly intriguing about the idea of drinking each other’s blood, don’t you think? The act itself transcends mere consumption; it’s a ritual of intimacy and connection. To drink someone’s blood is to partake in the essence of their being, to become a part of their very life force. The intimacy of being so close you can hear and feel the other person’s heartbeat creates a bond that is both physical and emotional.
The pulse, the roaring energy of life-producing fluids, rushing through veins and valves, is an overwhelming sensation. This vital fluid, rich with oxygen and nutrients, is the essence of life itself. The act of drinking blood teases and lures, driving one mad with lust and hunger. It’s a potent mix of desire and need, a primal urge that taps into our deepest instincts.
Then there is the tension between aggressor and victim, a dynamic that is as old as time. This interaction is fraught with sensuality and eroticism. The aggressor’s dominance, the victim’s submission, create a power play that is both thrilling and terrifying. It is in this moment, when life and death hang in the balance, that the boundaries between the two blur, and sensuality peaks. Never has a dead person been more alive than in that moment of connection.
Vampires and vampire stories never get old because they appeal to our basic levels of humanity: life, death, love, attraction, lust. The act of drinking blood encapsulates all these elements. It’s a powerful metaphor for the ways in which we connect with one another, the ways we seek to dominate or submit, to love or to consume.
In the glorious past of the seventies, the world was filled with vampires in films, books, comics, and TV shows, each exploring these themes in their own unique ways. We at shortly.film want more vampire shorts! We’ll bring back the glory of vampirism to the world, celebrating the sensuality and intimate nature of these timeless creatures.
